How do you soothe your Partner?

Our nervous systems are in constant communication with the other nervous systems that are around us. We get pulled into other's orbits or pull others into our's.

Have you ever been instantly relaxed by your partner when they look you in the eye and speak softly?

Have you had your wildly funny friend instantly lighten up your mood with their laughter and energy?

That's co-regulation, baby.

When we bring awareness and intention into this, we can change the entire trajectory of a bad mood, difficult conversation, or our Partner's fearful response.

When we choose to be in any kind of deep relationship (including platonic), we buy in to the agreement that we will be there to soothe each other--that we take care of each other the best we can.

AND we need both Self-Regulation AND Co-Regulation--we're usually better at one than the other 😉

We're always looking for ways to create MORE SAFETY in relationship--for ourselves AND our partners.
